Shannon Goldman is a film director/editor who made his start in independent film and has spent the last 25+ years directing and editing features, commercials and branded content. He began his career editing on a flatbed, contributing to feature films such as Revolution #9, Noise, and Ash Tuesday. In 2018, he directed and edited Greenport (written by Tony Spiridakis), which received numerous awards around the country and won Best Pilot Comedy at SeriesFest.

Classic filmmakers such as Hal Ashby (The Last Detail) and Roberto Rossellini (Open City, Paisans) created films that organically captured life’s imperfect beauty, transforming scenes into something that felt like real people reacting to real situations. These cinematic influences are evident in Shannon's filmmaking, where documentary meets narrative storytelling. His experience as a film director/editor allows him to approach to each project holistically, enabling him to cross narrative and advertising categories with ease.

Shannon proudly held the title of Creative Director of the North Fork Arts Center for three years (2022-2025) and was a founding member of the leadership team which built the 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Through the mission to create an inclusive, vibrant cultural arts experience for the North Fork community, the re-imagined Sapan Greenport Theatre became home to NFAC and has been operating year-round since Spring 2024.

As an integral part of the North Fork-based film program, Manhattan Film Institute (MFI), Shannon taught filmmaking every summer for eight years and collaborated with the founders to build the curriculum and offerings. He helped launch MFI's North Fork Film Festival in 2019 and served as the Festival Programmer and Director.
